  1. The most important festival for Chinese people is the Chinese New Year.It lasts for 15 days and usually held in late January or early February.
We celebrate the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with our families.Having a traditional dinner and making offerings to the gods and family ancestors.
The day before the New Year's Eve, we do some traditions of the Chinese New Year Festival, such as the annual house cleaning, put red banners outside the front door.(春聯) On the Chinese New Year's Eve, we share a family dinner(年夜飯). After dinner, parents offer 紅包(kind of money gift in a red envelope) to children.
The early morning of the Chinese New Year's Day, we set off firecrackers. ( It is said in that case we can frighten the Year monster)After waking up, we wear our new clothes and give New Year's greetings. The Chinese New Year Festival ends with the Lantern Festival, which has the children of Taiwan carring lanterns in parades.
